Gartner Magic Quadrant BPA 2010 y nuevo ARISalign

Gartner Inc. ha publicado el cuadrante mágico de las herramientas de Business Process Analysis (BPA) 2010 las cuales son principalmente utilizadas por:

• Business Architects, quienes requieren soluciones robustas alineadas con la architectura empresarial (Enterprise Architecture, EA)
  
• Business Process (BP) Architects, quienes rediseñan procesos de negocios en un nivel conceptual, sin importar si hubiera una implementación BPMS
• Business Process (BP) Analysts, quienes rediseñan procesos de negocios en un nivel más detallado, frecuentemente utilizando BPMS

Gartner también señala que el mercado de BPA no desaparecería al menos al 2015 por la maduración y consolidación del mercado:

"We do not see the BPA market disappearing, even in the long term (that is, through at least 2015). As with any mature market, consolidation continues to be a factor. Building on previous years (the acquisition of Proforma by Metastorm and Telelogic by IBM), 2009 saw IBM acquire Lombardi, Progress Software acquire Savvion and Software AG acquire IDS Scheer."

Los lideres en el cuadrante son (Ver figura):

"... high-viability vendors with proven track records in BPA tools and high degrees of functionality or market penetration, as well as vision and business investment. They are also well-positioned for the future, because of completeness of vision — due to financial commitment and market share, technological differentiation or both. Leaders do not necessarily offer the best products for every customer project or role. However, they provide solutions that offer relatively lower risk. Leaders include IBM, IDS Scheer (Software AG), iGrafx, Mega, Metastorm and Microsoft."

Por otra parte, Software AG ha anunciado ARISalign la cual es una herramienta de (Social BPM) modelamiento y mejora de procesos colaborativa que incluye caracteristicas sociales (social networking) y que no necesita instalación sino sólo acceso a Internet.
